Family Friendly Australia Day Celebration in Country NSW

The Australia Day celebrations are held at the Nundle Primary School where there is lots of
shade and seating.

The Australia Day ceremony at Nundle Public School us event is friendly and especially welcoming to visitors to Nundle.

Delicious Australia Day BBQ breakfast cooked by Nundle and District Lions Club from 8am.

Australia Day celebrations continue with two shows, Celebrate Heritage and Culture, at 11am and 4pm at The DAG Sheep Station. Tickets, $40, include a roast buffet lunch. Happy Hour before each show.

Australia Day celebrations at Nundle are friendly, welcoming, community-based events where visitors rub shoulders with locals and enjoy the small town country atmosphere. Everyone should experience the poignancy of Australia Day in Country NSW at least once in their lifetime. 

This year it falls at the conclusion of theTamworth Country Music Festival and Nundle's Australia Day festivities are a great way to end the Festival.

Australia Day at Nundle starts at 8am at Nundle Public School with breakfast cooked by Nundle and District Lions Club followed by a ceremony featuring the Australia Day Ambassador and Australia Day Awards including Citizen of the Year, Community Organisation/Event, Junior Sport and Community Appreciation.

The old fashioned hand shearing demonstration is always a hit as part of the Nundle Australia Day Program, as well as the Trivia Competition, Bush Band and Children's Activities (Treasure Hunt, Play Doh Modelling, and Best Australia Themed Hat).

Later in the day the sense of occasion continues with two Celebrate Heritage and Culture shows for Australia Day at The DAG Sheep Station.

Tickets, $40, include fruit and cheese platters and roast buffet luncheon with tabled seating.

At The Peel Inn take in the laid back country pub atmosphere and the grapevine covered courtyard recently voted among the best beer gardens in Australia.

Settle in for an afternoon with Bush Poets Ray Essary, Gary Lowe and John Best from 12.30-3.30, alternative country with Corrina Steel from 4-7pm and Folk Rockin' Country with Gibbo and the Fat Lambs and All Star Jam from 7pm onwards.
