Nundle Australia Day Celebrations

Australia Day Celebrations in Nundle are very popular and fun filled with the emphasis being on the significance of the day and is well attended by the local community and visitors alike. The day commences with a BBQ breakfast cooked by the Nundle Lions Club. The activities carry on during the morning, sheep shearing by a local shearer using a vintage hand powered shearing machine while bush music plays in the back ground. The popular Trivial Pursuit (Australian History) is always a hit. Children are catered for with playdough modeling competitions, biscuit nibbling competition and a treasure hunt. The person wearing the most Australia Day regalia wins a prize.

Australia Day Awards are presented and we are always lucky in having a very interesting Ambassador who bring the spirit of Australia with them. The festivities move onto the DAG Shearing shed where there is country music and food during the afternoon.
